As a process engineer, I carried out a continuous improvement project in the company, where I prepared SQDCI (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory) boards in all departments of the company, including the Warehouse, Cutting, Assembly, Glazing, Awning, Patio Door, Shipping, Railing, and Sheet Metal Fabrication departments.
The goal of this project was to improve the overall performance of each department by ensuring that the focus was on the key performance indicators of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory. The SQDCI boards were designed to provide a visual representation of the current status of each department in terms of these key performance indicators.
In order to prepare the SQDCI boards, I first analyzed the current performance of each department in terms of the key performance indicators. I then worked with the department heads to identify the areas that needed improvement and developed a plan to address these areas. The SQDCI boards were then designed to display the relevant data and provide a visual representation of the current status of each department.
The SQDCI boards were also used as a communication tool to share the current status of each department with the rest of the company. This helped to increase transparency and accountability and ensured that everyone was working towards the same goal.
Overall, the preparation of the SQDCI boards was a crucial step in the continuous improvement process, as it helped to focus the attention of each department on the key performance indicators that were important to the success of the company. The boards provided a visual representation of the progress that was being made and helped to ensure that the continuous improvement process was ongoing and sustained.
